Having surprised fans with a stunning free download “At Night” made in conjunction with friend and fellow Frenchman Arias last month, we thought we should grab a few words with global producer and DJ Arno Cost to hear more about making the track.

The “At Night’ vocals are seeped in dance history. What made you decide to use them for this track?

After we finished the instrumental of “At Night”, we tried to put several top lines on it and it didn’t really work. Anyway, we had to find a good vocal to be able to play it on shows, so we mashed it up with the Shakedown vocal and it worked so well that we decided to keep it on the version – even if we had to release the track for free.

How was working with fellow Frenchman Arias? Did you take on different roles in the studio?

Not really, we did everything together. It’s always great to work with Arias, he is very inspired and things come quite naturally in the studio! I think Arias is one of the most talented producers out there!

Have you had a chance to play out the single yet?

Of course, I play it in every set. It also gets awesome support from DJs like Nicky Romero, David Guetta, Pete Tong… It’s great to see that people like it.

Is there one venue you are yet to play but would love to do so?

EDC Vegas would be awesome. Also Coachella and Cream festival are still on my wishlist – I’m more a festival guy!

Outside of electronic music, what do you find yourself listening to? Does it influence your productions?

A lot of breakbeat stuff, French artists like Fauve, Christine and the Queens. I also love pop music: Coldplay, One Republic etc… It influences my productions in a way.

What was your highlight of last year and what is your main goal for 2015?

I would say the UK tour we did with the Protocol Team was truly amazing. I had also big shows in Vegas, Miami and LA. My main goal for 2015 is releasing more material and playing even bigger shows… I’m really excited about what this year is going to bring, and I can’t wait to share new stuff with you guys!
