Add another “power couple” to your list of anticipated collabs; Diplo and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig may be releasing new music together. Koenig is no stranger to the Mad Decent mastermind, appearing on Major Lazer’s 2013 song “Jessica” and also doing voicework for the Major Lazer animated series on FXX.

Diplo, who aside from being known for his hard-hitting trap and house music, is one of the most collaboration-friendly artists in the industry at the moment. He’s worked with artists from all over the music spectrum, from Skrillex and Nicky Da B to Madonna and now Vampire Weekend. Recently, he sat with Rolling Stone to discuss upcoming projects, stating,

“I’ve done a lot of songs with Ezra Koenig, some really cool stuff that I hope people get to hear. We wrote a couple of things for another artist that might be huge records for the end of summer.”

It’s the willingness to step away from the box that allows Diplo to continue standing out. Of Koening he mentions, “he’s not traditional rock — he’s like me, a hodgepodge of styles and influences.” In addition to penning new music with Koenig, Diplo also has projects in progress with Usher and The Band Perry.
