West Virginia-born and Brooklyn-based, Uncle Meg is a rapper best known for her videos and lyrics in the all-girl hip-hop trio Hand Job Academy. Her talent has been recognized by New York Magazine, LA Weekly, Taylor Swift and many more.
As the summer is coming to an end, Uncle Meg celebrates with a brand new release, which also happens to be the first single off of her forthcoming EP, set to be released in September 2015. It’s also available for free download.
“Uncle Freestyle” is an upbeat and wacky track, full of catchy rhymes, produced by P. Kilmure. Along with the new single comes a brand new music video. It’s an expression of Uncle Meg’s explosive creativity via a collaboration with local Brooklyn artist Vicky Healy, aka @meltycats. The video was directed and edited by none other than Uncle Meg herself and was shot by April Maxey, her long time business partner.
Stay tuned for Uncle Meg’s first solo EP coming this September, featuring five diverse songs, all to be released for free on iTunes, Spotify and SoundCloud. For now, download “Uncle Freestyle” directly here and check out the brand new video below.
