Dubstep fans all over the world know all about the talents of producer and DJ Megalodon. With countless high profile releases and remixes under his belt, he has just dropped another huge EP through Never Say Die – a collaborative four-piece that shows just why he is so good at what he does. We headed Behind The Beat with Mr. Megalodon…

What did you most enjoy about making “Encounters”?

Well I think it the most enjoyable part of making the EP was integrating everyone’s sounds into mine. I asked each artist to send me a basic signature sound, and then moulded them into my productions.

How long did it take to get finished?

It only took about 2 months to get everything finished, to be frank. I was also busy working on a few other tracks at the time including a track with Zeds Dead, so it was a very busy time for me as well.

How do you feel your sound has developed in the past few years?

I think in many ways my sound design and mixdowns have improved greatly over the years. As for the sound itself, I’ve always tried to keep to a slow but steady evolution – making sure each track sort of just continues where the track before left off.

Are there any artists that are particularly catching your eye at the moment?

To be honest when it comes to finding new talent SKisM always beats me to the chase. So I’ve just come to accept it – everything good comes out on Never Say Die. When it comes to people catching my eye at the moment, I’d have to say the entire NSD roster – especially the new additions, thanks to the Black Label platform.

Would you ever consider making an album?

Yes, I’ve actually been keeping the idea in the back of my mind for a long time. Maybe 2016 will be the year!

Where can we catch you playing for the rest of 2015?

Well since the end of festival season, I’ve been random city hopping, no tours. I’ll be hitting up a few of my favourite spots along with a few new places like Argentina. Then at the end of the year I should be announcing a tour to set in the new year right!
