SoundCloud is one of the top apps for sharing music. As of late, users have begun to abuse its repost feature. Unlimited reposts allow users to share music from any other account, whether it be in good fashion or not.
SoundCloud has caught on to this trend and has started to issue temporary bans on accounts who abuse the feature for play manipulation or worse, selling reposts for monetary gains.
According to Pigeons & Planes, 1833.fm have had their account temporarily revoked after repeatedly reposting tracks from other accounts, even though they claim to repost only 3-6 times per day. Their most recent ban was reported to last for nine hours, but increases in duration with each infraction.
Pigeons & Planes expects the bans to be mainly targeted at large channels, so no need to worry about your personal account for now. Keep on sharing, SoundClouders!
