*Aggressively starts to sing Bill Nye The Science Guy*
That’s right folks; Bill Nye is working with Steve Aoki on his new album. Aoki’s previous work has often incorporated the theme of technology and the scientific world–both Aoki and Nye have spoken about their appreciation for science and its influence on their careers.
“This album is not just a neutral space, but a chance to talk about more sophisticated issues than just raging at a festival.”
For example, on songs like “Back To Earth,” Aoki states that he “was trying to find a way to collaborate the ideas of science that interests me and my music. Fusing those ideas with the music made it more fun. It’s great to be able to use it as a tool to discuss something.”
To further merge connections between the EDM culture and science, Bill Nye and Steve Aoki have started to create a science-themed song for the new album titled “Noble Gas.” The song coincides with the theme of the Twilight Zone; Nye says, “The song would start with exploding super novae then lead to us. And that means that the fact that you and I are made of stardust is one of the ways that the universe knows itself”.
Who would have thought that our favorite scientist would work on an EDM album?
