At 11:45am this morning a massive fire destroyed what was one of London’s largest and most notable nightclubs, Studio 338. The club has been described as an “Ibiza-style mega-club” complete with terrace style dancefloor, and resides in the southeast quarter of the metropolis. The world-famous nightclub is now in ruins.
More than 100 firefighters were called to the scene as the fire spread continued to spread to neighboring industrial buildings and yards. One individual suffered serious burns and was reportedly airlifted to a local hospital.
The nightclub had only just re-opened earlier this year after undergoing serious renovations to improve the venue’s sound quality. This photo shows the newly refurbished steel and glass ‘atrium’ complete with balconies overlooking the dance floor, and the venue’s new VOID soundsystem. All these were blackened in the fire.
The smoke could be seen across London.
Studio 338 has released one tweet in the wake of the fire that only just occurred:
Not much to say right now except thank you all for the love and support at this difficult time. You are the best family we could wish for

No other official statement has been made. London Fire Brigade says it will be working at the scene for the rest of the day.
