Electric Zoo Festival on Randall’s Island NY, which took place just last weekend, was targeted by bandits who lifted over $6k worth of goods from attendees, police reports say.

Between the first and second day, at least 11 attendees were preyed upon by pick-pocketers, and two attendees were actually assaulted by the thieves. In one instance, around 1:30 in the morning, a 25 year old female attendee was followed outside of the venue, cornered, and robbed. The victim lost $180 cash and her cell phone.

The man was described as about 45 years old, 5 foot 8 and 180 pounds.

In a separate instance, a 19 year old attendee was dancing when she noticed a man digging in her purse near her. When she confronted him, he hit her on her arm, and fled the scene. He was described as being 25 years old, and 5 foot 8. The suspect ran away with $1,170 worth of belongings, including an iPhone, $20 in cash and several debit and credit cards, police said. The festival has not commented on these events, and police are still attempting to track down the thieves.

It wasn’t all bad at Randall’s Island this weekend, and tons of people had the weekend of their lives! You can tell from their after video. It’s sad not everyone could share in these good vibes, but that won’t scare us away from going and getting #WILD at EZ next year! See our photos from Electric Zoo 2016 here.
