Los Angeles: The land of opportunity. The entertainment capital of the world. Where else would you go to find the best parties with the best people, the best drinks, and of course…the best music? There’s really nowhere that can compare. Living in L.A. my whole life, I have been immersed into the music scene, and have been to all the best venues and clubs that anyone could offer. Every club and venue has its own style and its own set of people; you almost feel like you’re in a different country every time! If you want to be the Cool Kat in town, check out these clubs, quick!
1. Avalon Hollywood
Located in the center of Hollywood on Hollywood Blvd., this smaller–but extravagant–venue is one of the best in the city. The club includes three different rooms for different DJs, a rooftop with a view of the whole city, walls lined with Victorian red velvet, and an exterior that is beautifully carved like an Italian building. With frequent appearances from artists like Markus Schulz, NGHTMRE and Falcons, you can be sure you’ll find someone on the calendar that you want to see.
2. Low End Theory
You can’t get much more low-key than this party. It’s not located in the best area of downtown L.A., so it totally makes up for it with its hip people, cool venue, and great music! Such a surprise. The most exciting thing about this event is that its every Wednesday night for only 10 bucks at The Airliner. Major artists perform there, such as Flying Lotus and Mr. Carmack, so it gets pretty crowded. Having a full bar, an outside stage and an upstairs room for some real bass, you’ll really feel like a local in this hidden masterpiece. Check out the stellar flyer from a couple years ago!
3. The Standard Rooftop
This is one of the more unique bars/clubs that you’ll find. Can a place be underground, yet, be above ground? Well, this bar on the roof of the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles offers beautiful panoramic views of the entire city with nightly DJs, fireplaces, comfy couches, and even a pool on the roof. You can also catch some dinner! This is definitely a place to go for your birthday or just an exciting Friday night with some friends!
4. Exchange LA
Exchange LA is known for its history. Also centrally located in downtown L.A., this retrofitted club has been around for a while, but has gone through brilliant renovations in the past in order become the club that it is today. Located in a beautifully crafted historic building, this club has a strict dress code, but it’s worth the struggle for the amazing DJs that perform. They pride themselves in their Art Deco architecture, which consists of 25,000 square feet and four floors of mind-boggling music. Some artists that have blessed our hearts with their music at Exchange are Feed Me, Arty, and 4B. Check it out, you will not regret it!
