Just a few days ago, ZHU teased the Internet by playing out a mysterious remix of Migos’ hit song “Bad and Boujee” at Air + Style, a boutique festival in Los Angeles. Shaky smartphone videos appeared all across the Internet the day after, and hype was instantly built up. How long was ZHU going to sit on this gem? Well, thankfully, not at all. Today, ZHU posted the remix to his SoundCloud for everyone to enjoy as a free download.

ZHU’s version of the track is no cheap piggyback onto the viral hit. ZHU changes up the whole structure of the song by adding his own sung verse that comes in right after Offset’s bars. As soon as his falsetto voice fades out, the track drops into a slow, and unforgivingly deep, classic ZHU bass line that is sure to bump your speakers.

A remix from ZHU is very rare. In fact, he hasn’t remixed a track since the very beginning of his career when he had remixed Lana Del Ray’s “West Coast.” He’s also put his own spin on a medley of Outkast songs with a track titled “Moves Like Ms. Jackson,” which was actually the first song that he ever put out as ZHU. The track has since been removed from his SoundCloud, but with a little searching, you can find it pretty easily.

ZHU seems to be aiming high in 2017. He’s already been announced as a headliner for multiple boutique festivals, as well as showing up higher in the lineup card for many other popular music festivals like Spring Awakening and BUKU. Last year, ZHU’s first studio album, Generationwhy, debuted at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic music charts in the United States. Here’s to hoping he keeps the ball rolling this year.
