The UK-based music group Crystal Fighters recently released their third studio album Everything Is My Family on PIAS. Everything Is My Family is an album full of the Crystal Fighters unique blend of feel-good music; synths and folk music combined to create catchy melodies that leave listeners nostalgic for warm summer days. Their album meets a happy medium between the folky sounds on their first album, Star of Love, and dancier sounds of their second album, Cave Rave, and has garnered praise from Nylon, Noisey, and Dazed.
One of the tracks off the new LP – “Good Girls” – has been remixed by various electronic artists in an exclusive release. Michael Sparks hits a homerun with his edit, but first, give the original a listen:
Popeska, Tiger Town, Will Eastman, Sha Sha Kimbo, Icarus Moth, and Michael Sparks all add unique twists to the catchy tune.
First up, Popeska slows down “Good Girls” into a future-pop tropical blend that just feels so good. Tigertown turns up things up in a dancehall hit by amplifying the vocals, adding flutes, piano and Caribbean bass.Icarus Moth‘s infuses “Good Girls” with a more traditional electronica feeling, building upon synths to create a beautiful remix.
But Montreal based up-and-coming artist Michael Sparks takes a different approach. Michael Sparks blends his mix of jungle-terror into an eerily good opening that quickly turns into an extremely epic banger that we all hope to see across the festival circuit this summer. Michael Sparks removes the Caribbean-folk feel from “Good Girls,” reinventing the track into an almost UK garage/house infusion. His unique ability to blend the line gives a second life to “Good Girls.”

The timing of the remixes isn’t a coincidence; Crystal Fighters are planning a full-blown tour of the USA. Check out the announcement via their Twitter account below:
