Multiple advertisers, such as AT&T and Verizon, have recently pulled the plug due to their ads being show on YouTube adjacent to disturbing videos promoting terrorism and attacking homosexuality.

This boycott could possibly cost Google hundreds of millions of dollars. With YouTube’s very diverse and wide selection of videos, it’s almost inevitable that these advertisements will be shown alongside some unfortunate clips sometime or another.

Although Google has vowed to make more efforts to destroy ads on “hateful, offensive and derogatory” videos, that vow has not pleased AT&T and the other advertisers quite yet.
