Alexander Lewis exploded onto the scene with his trombone flip of Mr. Carmack’s “Pay For What” last May. Since then, he has utilized his classical music training to fuel a career that has led him to collaborations with artists like KRANE and Grammy award-winning duo Brasstracks, a release on Elysian Records, and a sound that is recognized everywhere.
Now, he’s back again with a trap-charged flip of Kaaris’ “Chargé,” which became an anthem in its own right when remixed by Carmack in 2014. Adding hard-hitting horns in place Carmack’s original drop lead and additional synth layers in the second drop makes this one of Lewis’ strongest releases to date. This will undoubtedly be rinsed by anyone and everyone throughout this upcoming festival season.
