Coined “Australia’s most optimistic band” by i-D, with over 20 million plays and half a million monthly listeners on Spotify and a string of sold-out shows and festivals, Set Mo are poised to take their act to the UK and USA.
Set Mo, born Nick Drabble and Stu Turner, have had an extremely steady year writing, recording, and releasing killer singles. Now, alongside the heavenly vocalist Woodes, the boys are ready to share their newest work with the world.
“I Belong Here” is a simmering summer song complete with tingly piano, noticeably original sound design, and mind-blowing, beautiful vocals courtesy of Woodes. Singer/songwriter Elle Graham, a.k.a. Woodes, works flawlessly with the Australian cast Asta, Elizabeth Rose and KLP, who provide the essential chorus vocals. Nick & Stu enlisted stellar bass player and friend Tom Tilley to funk up the bassline for this track, which was originally written on a soft synth. The result is a warm and lovely summertime house masterpiece.
“Over the last couple of years, we’re really feeling like we’re coming into our own as songwriters as well as producers. Working with Woodes after being personal fans of her music for so long was a dream for us…The song is about when you start to question what you’re doing, and if you’re in the right place – which is important to do – but then to also be able to realize when everything is good and you are exactly where you belong. Whether that is geographically, relationship wise or career wise. We feel this is the perfect song for us right now” Nick and Stu say about their newest release.
Set Mo will be embarking on a national headlining tour in August.
