REZZ has grown to be one of the most popular bass/techno DJs in the electronic music scene, and at just such a young age, she’s already accomplished a lot.
The 22-year-old DJ started producing in 2013 and quickly boomed into one of the hottest female producers in the EDM scene. One of her biggest influences is deadmau5, who eventually signed her after discovering her online. She also finds inspiration from Gesaffelstein, Alesia, Amon Tobin, Eskmo, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights and many more.
After releasing her singles “Relax” and “Diluted Brains” earlier this month, REZZ, who is also known as ‘space mom’ to her fans, is back with another single, “Premonition” with knodis. The new track stems from her highly anticipated debut album Mass Manipulation, which is due for release on August 4 via mau5trap.
As REZZ likes to describe her sound, it’s a “weird industrial bassy low paced and super rhythm based music.” Incorporating powerful kicks, syncopated percussion and rumbling synths to drive the track home, this latest offering is a testament to REZZ’s impressive commitment to quality and production value as she continues to test and push the boundaries of the electronic music scene.
“Premonition” has a driving synth bassline undercutting a series of minimalistic melodic interjections and percussion. The track is an enigmatic, otherworldly take on the techno genre and is instantly recognizable as classic REZZ.
REZZ has crafted a musical identity that is without limits, characterized by an increasing sonic arsenal of mysterious and eerie bass-driven samples. This track is definitely worthy of its praise that she’s previously received from tastemakers such as Thump, Billboard and Mixmag.
Rezz recently announced a major world tour called “Mass Manipulation,” which will hit cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Baltimore, New York, El Paso, Mumbai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Las Vegas, Seattle, and many more.
