At the beginning of July, Zeds Dead unveiled a new collaboration with Illenium as he ended his set at Dead Rocks IV, at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Jefferson County, Colorado. Now, the ferocious collaboration has been released via Deadbeats. The track, titled “Where the Wild Things Are,” carefully blends the perfect amount of dirty bass with uplifting melodies atop dreamy vocals.
Illenium (dubbed by Billboard as the “Dreamer”) is clearly the influence for the softer side of “Where the Wild Things Are,” whereas the heavy-hitting bass is assumably crafted from Zeds Dead. Zeds Dead shares, “We had Nick [Illenium] with us on the Northern Lights tour and had been bouncing ideas around for a while. We started off wanting to make something very melodic but when we got in the studio we couldn’t really hold back from making it go wild on the drop. After all it is ‘Where the Wild Things Are.'” Regardless of who’s responsible for which sound, the three producers sound pretty amazing together.
“Where The Wild Things Are” is Zeds Dead’s first track since their debut album Northern Lights released last year. Illenium shared with fans via Twitter how excited he was to work with the two, as he announced the release of “Where the Wild Things Are”.
