The first month of 2018 has already blessed the music world with genre-bending collaborations, fire remixes, and news that excites all of us here for whatever the next 11 months has to bring. Chinese-American electronic musician ZHU confirms that he’ll be adding to our genre-bending collaboration category with an official confirmation that his work with Tame Impala is on its way.
ZHU informed his fans during a set in China. Later, this news was confirmed by the “Waters of Monaco” producer’s management team after the appearance. Diehard fans have been looking forward to more information about this project since January 10th when ZHU’s tweet alluded to it.
However, the upcoming track wasn’t the only update ZHU had for fans. His performance in China was actually a launch for a brand new Chinese EDM label, known as Liquid State. Liquid State is being backed not only by Chinese tech and streaming revolutionary Tencent Music Entertainment, but also by Sony. The new label is set to feature releases from artists Alan Walker, ZHU, and many Chinese artists. This new label is planning on utilizing streaming services Kugou and Kuwo Music as well as QQ Music. Tencent actually reaches more than three times the users than Spotify does across its platform. 2018 is looking to be a huge year for ZHU, so be sure to keep an eye out for him in the next few months.
