The latest release from QUIX displays a vastly diverse assortment of influences and sounds, all of which are brimming with the artist’s brand of powerful emotion. The Illusions EP is comprised of six tracks with vibes ranging from aggressive to chill and features several collaborating artists. Whether combining elements of trap and dubstep, as with “Earthquake,” or future bass and soul, like “Ride Or Die,” the diversity of the release will be pleasing to all who hear it.
Accompanying the Illusions’ release via Dim Mak, QUIX has embarked on an extensive tour of the same name, which kicked off in late October, continues through January, and spans the continental US with several dates in Canada. The New Zealand native quickly gained support from names such as Skrillex, Steve Aoki, RL Grime, Diplo, What So Not, and more. With releases on labels like Mad Decent and Dim Mak, and upcoming collaborations with The Chainsmokers, Alison Wonderland, and Baauer, QUIX’s meteoric rise is evident.
