Rumor has it that in honor of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock Music & Arts Festival, there will be a tribute event entitled Journey On, although it remains unconfirmed for the time being.
This festival would combine music from both Woodstock and current generations and bridge the gap for a legendary celebration. The event would group artists by genres, from country to pop, Latin to EDM. The Festive Owl leaked the lineup speculations via a proposed deck, with classic artists like Neil Young and Carlos Santana and electronic music industry giants Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5 and Skrillex. The emergence of these artists in the Woodstock scene would be absolutely epic, but is not for sure seeing how no official announcements have been made from the creators of 1969 cultural phenomenon.
Although unconfirmed, Michael Lang, a co-founder of the original Woodstock festival, has reported that the festival has “definite plans” for reconvening in wake of the anniversary, although the event would not be affiliated with the organizers of the 1969 festival. Journey On would take place in Bethel Woods, just like its predecessor, in 2019.
