It has been five years since the release of Gesaffelstein’s last album, Aleph. Besides his collaborations with Kanye West, The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky, and the original soundtrack for the thriller Maryland, the French producer has not put out any solo projects since then. Anticipation has been building after his billboards were spotted in Paris and New York. After dropping hints on social media and the news of signing to Columbia Records, he is finally back with his latest single, “Reset.”
The song itself features his signature dark, glitchy and industrial sound. Screaming elusiveness and pure insanity, this devilishly filthy track reminds us of what we love about him in the first place. It also arrives alongside a video that features a Tekashi 6ix9ine look-alike. The weird but slick combination hits the sweet spot in fans’ hearts.
Listen to and watch the video of “Reset.” The king has returned and we need to get ready. The fans cannot wait to see him start touring and smoking cigarettes on stage again.
