Midtempo music is the new hot style taking over the EDM scene in the last couple of years, and it seems like just about every song gets a midtempo remix from some producer or another. Now, two Daft Punk classics are getting the same treatment 18 years later from newcomer Synymata.
Synymata got his creative juices flowing and mashed up two iconic Daft Punk songs, “One More Time” and “Aerodynamic” and put his own midtempo flair, and if this song isn’t thrown into festival sets across the nation, I don’t know what will. The two tracks work surprisingly well on top of each other, and the new tempo and Synymata’s own unique bass blasted drop gives these electronic mainstays new life. I didn’t expect this to sound this cool as a midtempo track, but here we are.
The masked DJ is no stranger to making bangin’ remixes of popular songs; Synymata has crafted his own versions of tracks like Justice’s “Genesis” and Whethan’s “Savages” as well as dropping his own tracks and collabs with Aloma Steele, Q’Aila, and Boltex. Having garnered support from the likes of Alison Wonderland and Zeds Dead, it will be interesting to see what this guy’s got up his sleeves. For now, I’ll just keep bumping this remix and shamelessly singing along and basking in the newfound nostalgia.
