Newcomer C.H.A.Y. proves that he is mainstay material with his brand new Travel Far EP via mau5trap. The Florida native ebbs and flows through four distinct tracks that each offer their own fully immersive aura.

Demonstrating his well-deserved confidence, C.H.A.Y. commences with his title track, which takes listeners on a journey through simplistic drum patterns, supernatural sound design and a shadowy take on the label’s trademark sonance. His captivating compositions continue to seduce with “Into The City,” which urges that less is more, while the whirlwind of a warehouse hymn, “Crime,” satisfyingly hits the spot. The EP comes to a riveting, yet unsettling, close with “Floxen,” which offers the producer’s very own vulnerable vocals. “Halfway through singing on the track for the first time, I began tearing up,” said C.H.A.Y. “That ended up being the take I used and I feel like it rounded off the idea behind the whole ‘Travel Far’ EP perfectly.”

While impressive C.H.A.Y.’s brand new EP may be, one may be left disappointed that they didn’t hear about the prodigious talent sooner.

“My EP ‘Travel Far’ takes the driving sounds of techno and electro, infusing dark cutting bass swells, hits, sequences, atmospheres, and rhythms with a balance of melodies in-between. Music has always been a way to escape and reflect on life, and that’s something I wanted to hit on specifically throughout my EP.” – C.H.A.Y.
